Happy New Week Ahead Everyone!

Heyo, I must keep this short because Im once again very tired and needing sleep. The past couple of days have been fun. Friday night we finally had time off again, so David and I went to a movie! We went to "going the distance" and it is a really good movie, funny too. I actually spilt my drink out all over and continued to choke I was laughing so hard, then I almost peed myself. Ha ha, hows that for describing a movie? Although it is a love story line kind of movie, it still has a funny kick to it! As we were walking home, in the rain... I saw a man who looked disorientated and he had ragidy clothes on. I realized he was probably homeless, but I left it because it was late at night. Then the next day (saturday) when getting dropped off at the mall from our out trip I noticed him again, i then again left it. Then walking home later that day I saw him again, so I stopped to talk to him, and to see if he was okay. And it turns out he really is lost, so I told him about the soup kitchen and such, so hopefully he comes in tomorrow, I don't think he has eaten in awhile.

So Saturday I went out to a smaller town about 45 minutes away, with only half of my group, as the other half attended a different event. Mine was called "seven guys" this event was a fundraiser for the collation of passenger trains for this region called "Algoma", because they are better for the environment, thats the only thing that stuck out to me, however there was so many other pros to having more trains running. There is actually alot of trains which run out of here to other communities, but they want to get more. This event was called "seven guys" because seven guys in 1910 would travel by train cars on the Algoma train line, and they would get off to paint, and they lived in shacks along the train lines. They are famous artists, and this conference had like workshops such as oil pant, sketching, photography, etc. SO it was a celebration of their work, and awareness about the importance of passenger trains. They had guest speakers, performers, and a family member of one of the seven guys to talk as well. I just helped with petitions, workshops, cleaning up, and such. It was a fun day, and the drive and the scenery was amazing. There was like a water fall, on the way home, just on the side of the highway on a stone wall, completely natural. I love road trips out here, no boring prairie, instead tons of trees, and water falls and such!

Today we got to sleep in, and it was so amazing. Only until ten, but it felt like i got rejuvinated! Huzzah! We had free time, but I decided to go help the Soup Kitchen at the Communities annual Chilli Fest! It was so much fun, I actually helped make the chilli on Friday at work. So it has like local restraunts like Boston Pizza and such giving out samples of their chilli. We won 1st for best chilli out of like 15!! And we also won Spiciest chilli, and 2nd for peoples choice award. So it was cool to go on stage and get our award, and pictures! Im glad I went out and helped. Afterwards I went to the park, because it was a beautiful day. I took pictures, then walked home. It's about a 30 minute walk from where I was. I pretty much walk or take a bus anywhere I go. Tonight we had a KCC meeting, where we talk about future events, House Managers talk, Reflect on past events, stuff like that!

We are planning a camping trip to lake superior for our 72 hours off! And we need to take a train to get there. It will be fun, and cold, however beautiful! Set up a tent, right beside a great lake, I can't wait! SO i should really get to bed, I have a longer day at work tomorrow, since I am staying later for the children's program to tutor a girl!

I hope everyone is doing well,
Much love from Amy!
