More cooking, More cleaning, " Oh No..It's Burning!"
Well, I can't believe I haven't burnt down the house. Id say I have had a few close calls. Let me think back to all the times aside from being house manager.. Well one night I put my Nivea Lip Chap in my light cover, thinking I would take it out in the morning before turning the light on, lucky for me I smelt the plastic melting, later on the next day. Oops, I always forget I have insense burning before I leave the house, although I am getting better at this:) And today, I was using Borax to clean the oven, well apparently I didn't get it all out when I was wiping it down. David went to turn it on for the Apple Pie, good thing he noticed something sizzling, because there would have been a fire!! Also I shouldn't forget the dryer doesn't turn off by itself when it is on High Heat. Well, that was just a personal note to self to be more careful. :) Ha ha, and for all of your enjoyment as I am a little bit crazy!
Yet again, I am so tired. Being house manager is so so exhausting. I have been getting up early, even if I can sleep in a little bit. Today I got up at 730 to put out the garbage as it is garbage day, and to sort the recycling stuff. Then I put out the fruit for the day. Since everyone can only have 2 a day, we have to put the exact number out everyday with the fruit checklist, so I also had to do that. Then I went to workout, and came home and started cleaning, and cooking! So honestly I haven't stopped until now, 9:30 at night. Then after supper we had our KCC meeting, where we meet with our competencies to discuss future events we are planning. I am in the communicating in your second language competency. Next week we are doing a French/English Cherades night. It will be funny, so it will be completely random if you get a French or An English event you need to act out. I am excited. We also planned a Pumpkin Carving Night. Where the english and french will be split up. And they will be given a sentence in their second language saying something like "The pumpkin is very angry" and they will have to carve the pumpkin matching what the sentence read. That will be fun to as it is halloween soon. However we will be billeting at that time so, we can't celebrate halloween as a group.
Another funny story about today, other than almost burning down the house, David and I thought the Washing Machine was going to explode. We here this shaking noise, I right away though EARTH QUAKE! And yes for those that know me well, I usually freak out in small situations like thinking a storm is TORNADO! And I can hear my camp family, laughing already. However, I honestly thought it was an earth quake haha.. well anyway, I hear AMY!!! and Im like OH no! And David is like come down here, and Im like oh my god, the basement is flooded. Well no, the washing machine was having a party, seriously. It was almost tipping it was shaking so intensely. Ha ha ha, so another life lesson don't put too much in it. Today we had to wash all the bedding, so we have tons of laundry to do in between cooking and cleaning.
Well, I can't complain other than being really tired. Both days so far we have had dinner on time, which is great because everyone is playing the waiting game with a hungry tummy when they get home from work. David's apple pie was so so good! And my Sheps Pie recipe turned out very well. Everyone preferred the veggie ground one instead of the actual beef one surprisingly! So I am very happy with the turn out. Well yesterdays Baked Fettucini with Shrimp, and the Veggie one turned out burnt because of the overload of noodles in such a small pot. Ha ha, that would have been a bad first impression for our first meal, as everyones coming home from work and all you can smell is burning. But! I made Peanut Butter Cookies, and everyone enjoyed them:) So that makes up for it.
I miss the soup kitchen this week, the people, and the inspiration I get there everyday. It will be nice to return on monday. Although next tuesday is the first showing of the play, so I really need to get my lines memorized!! Tomorrow I have to get up at 630 with David to make one of our hot breakfasts for the week. We made a fruit salad, and we are making pancakes, and yes with vanilla.. my mom would say "don't get them drunk!" Because I do have a tendency to put lots of vanilla in, and not realize it is pretty strong, oops:) Ill try to be careful, since we are sending everyone off to work after. So we will have a sit down breakfast all together at 730 am. This will be nice, because we haven't really done that yet, everyone is always so busy in the mornings, and everyone is doing their own thing. Tomorrow for supper we are having Ham, Mashed potatoes, Bean salad, and Im not sure what else for myself the "Veggie" and Katie the most of the time "Veggie" and once in awhile eating meat person! Ha ha.
I shall really get some sleep, I hope everyone is doing well :)
