"Im in a Box" ..for reals
Cooking, Cleaning, and More Cooking. Story of this week, as House manager!! I have been home all week, so not much to say. However, Katie and I have made some yummy meals, and lots of baked goods. Monday when we went grocery shopping we spent 2 hours in the store, we spent $487.00 worth of food $13.00 short of our $500.00 budget. Close call! But lots of food, which is wonderful for feeding 12 hungry people.
Monday we went to Yoga, it was really interesting. It was funny because upon leaving everyone was like, Amy you better not be laughing, and threatening to put a muzzle on me ha ha! So I went away from the group, because I couldn't take it seriously otherwise. It was really good, well difficult I really don't think it was an intermediate class. It was hard to get the meditation out of it because I was trying so hard to focus on not making a fool out of myself, and making it look like I knew what I was doing. I was very sore the next day. But I want to keep going, we scheduled it again for next week!
Tuesday was our regular French/English lessons. It was really late at night so it was really hard for me to focus, Im really finding learning french difficult. I lost so much of my motivation while at billeting however, I will keep trying and get it all back! Oh and I also made yummy stuffed peppers. I really liked them! And everyone else seemed too as well, except for Mitch he doesn't really like Veggies, but I have mentioned that before!
Wednesday, we filmed our IM IN A BOX video.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IObGp-QiXiA You all must see it. It is hilarious, and it's to raise awareness for the Soup Kitchen Sleepover, we are participating in tonight with the Elliot Lake group. And yes we are sleeping in a cardboard box, all of us. Spooning is mandatory as we won't have any space. But don't fear, girls and guys are separated, that information is for my parents who will be freaking out reading this:) Anywho... IM SO EXCITED!
Thursday, free time!! And the best supper of them all. It was like a macaroni cheese casserole dish. It was so good. I can't wait to eat leftovers for lunch. We also had a theme night which was TOGA style. It was so much fun. Everyone got really in to it, even the guys. Everyone was mad at me at the beginning because I forced it. But it ended up being really fun, and we all watched the final product of our movie, and ran around playing tag.. how childish ha ha. My favorite is kitchen dance parties when we are cleaning up! Now we made it mandatory to have one theme dinner a week. I hope everyone stays as motivated as they were all last night!! After all that crazyness I went swimming at the YMCA with Kyle, Mitch, Ian and Claude. It was good exercise walking there and back too. I needed to get out of the house.
Other than all that fun stuff, Ian the one form NFLD, made an announcement at last nights dinner. He is leaving our group on a medical leave. So that was too bad and shocking, I just said bye to him now with katie at the cab picked him up to go to the airport. He was so funny, and always hurting himself. The group dynamic will definitely change. But on a brighter side Chelsea will be home late Saturday. I can't wait to have my roomie back:)
Now it's Friday, I am about to make the pizza dough for a nice easy pizza supper tonight! Katie and I finished cleaning, and now we are awaiting the Katimavik Elliot Group! It will be a full house, like 24 people!!
Well now, our group is down to 9, and then back to 10 on Saturday. However the program is still moving, and our group is very positive and we can adapt to change which is wonderful and make the most out of the situation. I will write in more detail soon, but thats the quick rundown of my life!
Peace&Love,
AmyDawn
