Inspiration.
Love everywhere. Everything has been going really well, and I constantly have this smile across my face. Last week I did the soup kitchen play three times in one day, it was amazing the high school students were blown away with these realities some people have to face, and then we did it for a special club at a restraunt later on and they cut a check for $1000.00 after, amazing. Once again I was uplifted by the generosity some people have and the thought that these people really need that money. There was also a part added and a very special man gets interviewed and he talks about his life through violence, substance abuse, and other kinds of abuse, it is so moving that he can share this story with complete strangers. However now he has his kids back, and he is taking it day by day without drugs. Its amazing to be among those who are giving it their all to not fall back in to those habits.
The weekend was relaxing mostly me and my own thoughts however thats okay too. I spent a night with Calna the executive director of the soup kitchen, she invited me out to her home in the next town over in the country mostly It was nice! This week I have spent some time socializing with people, and helping out with random tasks here and there. I have decided that this might be my second home for the next four years and I will start a degree program at the university here next fall it's called community development and social work- perfect right? Its just an idea, and a huge possibility at this point. I love this place.
Tonight I will be doing the play again, I am excited. It turned out well that they needed some extra help with it since I have been here, of course I don't mind it.
Friday will be a cold frosty night in the cardboard box, over 200 people will be sleeping in a box so that is amazing. I have been helping prepare for that as well. I am so excited, there will be fires going, entertainment and lovely energy.
